Content analysis and stakeholder relationships management at Olympic Channel Services. I colaborated in the development of the digital strategy of the web product olympics.com. Advisory role for the editorial team.

Comunication, data analysis, stakeholders relationships, executive reporting, SQL, python over AWS infraestructure.

Santander Europa  10/2021 – 06/2022

The One Compliance Project in Banco Santader analyzes, defines and implements the Compliance best practices of the Santander group across multiple geographies such as Portugal, UK and Poland.

We developed data quality projects and OCR tools using python and pyspark

Banco Santander  10/2020 – 09/2021

The Data Science talent program combines a Data Analyst work at the bank with postgraduate studies on Big Data and Bussiness Analytics.

I worked at financial compliace and AML where I developed data engineering skills such as data pipeline design, data quality framework development and monitoring with tools like python, pyspark, HQL and CI/CD agile frameworks over Git. We also trained a machine learning model for fraud detection.

Tecnilógica Ecosistemas Accenture. 1/2020 – 4/2020

In this internship, We worked on a R&D project. We implemented state of the art quantum algorithms on the IBM quantum gate computer. The main algorithm used was the Quantum monte carlo to evaluate option pricing more efficiently.

I gained experience with Qiskit, pytorch, R&D project development and software development tools sich as Git or Linux tools.

Grupo Aula Joven e IES San Juan Bautista. 9/2019 –  12/ 2019

The IES San Juan Bautista project, in collaboration with the Aula Joven group, involved the creation of a series of seminars on study techniques and time management, which were delivered on a weekly basis over a period of three months. The aim of the program was to teach high school students effective study techniques and time management skills, in preparation for a smoother transition to university life.

Professional competencies

In this classification, I categorize my skills as competent user for those in which I am proficient and can work autonomously.

For tools in which I have limited experience or require some assistance, I categorize myself as an independent user.

Lastly, basic competencies refer to those in which I have some introductory knowledge and can quickly resume the learning process if needed.

Professional Achievements

  1. Msc Final Project. Geolocation of customers and reporting using PySpark and Power BI. 9.8/10.
  2. Final Degree Project. Machine learning in cosmological simulations. Semi-Analytic modeling 9/10
  3. Execellence scholarship and first-year scholarship.

Education

Completed

The aim of this master’s program is to provide technical competencies required to undertake the execution of projects within the Big Data ecosystem and lead the digital transformation of companies.

It covers the entire data architecture, from the hardware layer to the application layer, to provide an overview of the different phases of these projects and to understand the technological alternatives that support them.

The physics degree provides analytical tools to study and understand a wide range of phenomena. To me, what physics teaches you is to study anything from its fundamental pieces, using approximations that simplify the problems in order to arrive at conclusions that can move the world forward.

I specialized in computational physics, completing my final degree project in cosmology and machine learning, and undertaking an internship in quantum computing.

Quantum technologies are capable of processing certain problems much faster and more efficiently than classical devices. Developing these technologies requires professionals with a solid understanding of quantum physics and programming skills.

IBM and the Autonomous University are seeking to create quantum programmers who can take state-of-the-art quantum algorithms and apply them to productive enterprise applications.

In this course, students learn Qiskit and gain a comprehensive overview of quantum computing from its foundations to the state-of-the-art, as well as the tools available for creating quantum programs.

IBM, in collaboration with the Autonomous University, aims to promote cloud technologies, and this course provides training on the basic principles of Big Data and cloud computing services.

Specific Big Data tools like Spark and intelligence projects like building a chatbot using IBM’s Watson intelligence system are discussed.

Interests and professional objectives

To me, the question of whether technology should be subservient to business or if business should be limited by what technology allows is a two-sided conversation, and I enjoy serving as a bridge between the two, understanding the needs of the business and the advantages of technology.

Therefore, knowing about a variety of technological businesses allows me to have a more general idea of how to reconcile these two sides and help build new products that expand the capabilities of our users or make their lives easier.

And why data science? It seems to me to be the most important link between business needs and technological capabilities. It is technically easy to capture a large amount of data, but the real challenge is turning it into what businesses need.

To me, a programming language is a system that allows you to abstract a problem and solve it without needing to know its inner workings. Software development is the work in which you can navigate through the different levels of abstraction of a problem and find the route that leads you from one level to another efficiently, which is very satisfying.

On the other hand, the open-source movement allows us not only to share these routes, but also to navigate them without cost and choose where we want to be at any given moment. The open-source movement gives us all this freedom and power, and I feel the need to reciprocate it in order to continue, together, discovering all the nooks and crannies of human knowledge.

One of the central axes of my work is the data value chain, with two fundamental elements being data generation and processing.

IoT makes data capture easier than ever before, moving from manual or active data creation to automatic management. This is the first step towards generating exponential value.

Secondly, processing this data requires resources. Cloud computing uses economies of scale to lower processing and solution costs. By working together, we can advance value generation more sustainably.

If you have an interest in both physics and software engineering, then quantum computing is a perfect professional field that combines both disciplines. It seeks to create new methods of calculation that will allow us to solve very complex problems that go beyond our classical perception.

Moreover, working in quantum computing means taking on the commitment of being the people who drive innovation and development in one of the most interesting disciplines of our time. When we have exponentially faster processing power in the future, quantum developers will be able to see these new applications and say, “I was there.”
